Josie McDermott (1925-1992) from County Sligo was a traditional Irish musician: a flute and tin whistle player, composer and singer. I am not a bodhrán player but decided to add accompaniment by tapping the rhythm out with my fingers on the table beside my P.C. (Two Reels: Colliers & The Bank Of Ireland)

Mrs Crotty was born Lizzie Markham in 1885. She was born in a small townland called Gower, in Cooraclare, in the beautiful county of Clare. She was a musical child in a musical family. Her sister Maggie also played concertina and her mother played the fiddle. Lizzie was largely self taught. Lizzie and Maggie played at various house dances, christenings, wakes and so called ‘American Wakes’. (A ...

What band/artist is he talking about?
I bet Liam wished he had the chanter so he could twiddle the notes out under the table.
I danced under Kevin Massey Omg he was sooo strict😢
Thank you Tim, Garry and Nollaig for this beautiful performance

A single malt whisky and a pint today would knock you back about €20!!! 😢😢😢😢

Tony was entirely correct. And the watering down of the real irish tradition (as opposed to 'trad' the use of which has hastened the slide) has continued fast with the Commercialisation of Fleadh cheoil na hÉireann by allowing fleadh TV to rule the roost. I watched it happen and drew attention to it in my book Fawcett's fleadh.
Ye would much prefer to hear Jim Murray on with this kid, someone to do him justice basically, 😂😂
Brilliant
Liam is a legend. Check my friend, Andy McGregor on the smallpipes. Liam is the GOAT! Unless someone can educate me about an ancient samurai piper.
Dolores Keane and Mary Black are the Queens of Irish music.
Excellent tone and control
What a wonderful sound !!!
Superb, so skillful and graceful. Prefer this any day to modern Irish dancing. Thanks to wonderful musician & music too. All so enjoyable, thank you. 🤗

When I started playing Uilleann pipes, a full set made by Leo Rosen was around $500 USD, and you could barely give them away at that price. Now days, my set is considered priceless, and full sets made by modern makers will run you around $8000 and up, with, a two-year, plus, wait.

How i wish they could all come home !
who's watching this after Baby Reindeer?
My late father remembered seeing his grandad step dancing through the house at the age of 76 years old AND playing the fiddle at the same time.
❤❤❤❤
Why are so many famous singers not even good singers? I’m sad that this kind of voice is so underrated but maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way, through worldly view??
There ain't none better, been one of my favorites for 60 years or so....
